RoboParty consists of a large project for teaching youths to build mobile robots, in order to attract their attention to science and technology. Youngster from all ages can participate, from primary school, to secondary and professional schools. This is an educational event which gathers 120 groups of 4 people each (3 students and one teacher), for three days and two nights (they sleep in sleeping bags), where teams are taught how to build mobile robots in a simple way with fun. The project involves training on electronics, programming and mechanics, and to build a robotic kit. Afterwards, the robot built belongs to the team and it can be used to progress the studies either in school and/or at home. During the event, there are also many entertaining and sports activities they can try so that they can enjoy themselves.

RoboParty helps new teams (beginners) to build their own robot, show participants the most relevant robotics competitions, and gives them knowledge to participate in the RoboCup
Regional Opens, and further in time, to participate on RoboCup. It is important to point out that participants will be taught some basics about electronic components (resistors, diodes, capacitors, switches, transistors, etc.), basic principles of mechanics, and programming (Arduino and C Language). To make the learning experience more engaging and fun, cartoon slides are used in some training sessions.

The teachers/mentors from the teams also have some lectures, accredited from the Portuguese Government, in subjects like: robot programming, C language, Arduino IDE,
Processing Language, Computer Vision (OpenCV) for Python, robot programming with graphical languages like Open Roberta, Artificial Intelligence, CAD drawing for 3D printing,
Artificial Intelligence, etc. The most relevant robotics events are explained to the teachers/mentors, like the objectives, the rules, the different leagues, the location of each event, etc. so that they get interest in robotics and decide to continue participating (specially on RoboCup).
